Terms & Conditions
Last updated 2026-09-10 · Invite-only beta, operated by an individual.
By using There & Then you agree to these terms. There & Then is operated as a personal project by an individual (referred to here as “the operator”), not a company. These are good-faith beta terms.
Eligibility and access
There & Then is invite-only during beta. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital- consent age where you live) to use it. Access is granted at the operator's discretion and may be suspended or revoked.
Beta service — provided “as is”
There & Then is an early beta. It may change, break, lose data, or become unavailable at any time, with no guarantee of uptime. Please keep your own copies of anything important. The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.
Your content
Your notes and photos are yours. You grant the operator a limited, revocable license to store and process your content solely to provide the service to you — including running features like search, maps, and the AI "Ask" feature. Photos you attach are stored to display back to you as part of that memory only — their contents are not analyzed and are not sent to the AI provider. You are responsible for what you capture, and you must not capture other people's personal information unlawfully.
When you use the AI "Ask" feature, a limited portion of your content — the notes relevant to your question, together with your question — is transmitted to a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic) for the sole purpose of generating your answer. This occurs only when you use that feature. Under the operator's agreement with that provider, your content is not used to train any AI model and is retained by the provider only transiently, for security and abuse-prevention. The operator does not sell your content or use it for advertising.
Acceptable use
- No unlawful content, and nothing that violates others' rights.
- No attempts to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or break the security or per-user isolation of the service or its infrastructure.
Accounts
Sign-in is handled by third-party OAuth providers. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in account secure.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of There & Then. The operator's total liability is limited to the amount you paid to use the service (which, during beta, is zero).
Termination
You may stop using There & Then and delete your account at any time. The operator may suspend or end the service, or your access, at any time.
Governing law
These terms will be governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction, to be specified before public launch.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
